What comes first into your minds when you hear the word, 'sembreak'? Many people say it's a time to rest, or bond with your loved ones on a vacation in Manila or Baguio for an instance. Well, for me.. sembreak means a lot. Why? Simply because it is a time for me to spend time with my one and only lola, with my cousins, and every relative of mine that you can think of. I went in Villamar, Caoayan to spend my sembreak just after the barangay elections.
The time I landed a foot in our family house, I saw an unfamiliar little girl sitting by the door. I swear it's the first time I've seen her. I hurriedly went to my lola and asked her who she was. I was so surprised when my lola said she was my cousin. I didn't recognize her because the last time I saw her is when she was about two years old. She had grown so well. A few days of staying there, we became close to each other. She even invited me to go to Abra on summer if I'll have time. I also spent my sixteenth birthday in there.
By the 1st day of November, I went home. My family went to the cemetery and gave flowers and lighted candles for our late loved ones.
It was indeed a great vacation.
